Obituary of Thomas Tegart

Passed away suddenly on April 13, 2012 survived by his dear wife Elizabeth (Betty) Tegart. Tom and Betty moved to Santa Barbara 12 years ago after residing in Pacific Palisades where they were active in both their church and social communities. Tom and Betty were born and raised in the Los Angeles area. Tom was the son of Margaret and Harold Tegart. He attended Notre Dame High School, graduated a proud Oregon Duck followed an advanced degree in International Business at the Thunderbird School of Global Management. The Bank of America sent him to Malawi, Africa and London, England. Returning to California he continued to work for Bank of America and Bank of California before retiring. Tom served as a Knight of Malta, where he performed numerous charitable acts. In addition to Betty, he is survived by his daughters Corinne (Mike) Mullin and their children, Davis, James, Justin, and Keith and Amy Gunn (Chad) and their son Tyler and additionally by Betty's sisters Mary (Mike) Nuanes and their children Timothy and Katherine, Denise (Mike) Malloy and their children, Christopher, Keith, Daniel and Mary Denise, and Alice (Rick) Cassese. Tom was truly the ultimate and joyful grandfather. He will be much missed by his cousins, Celina McHale, Georgia Simpson, Matt Simpson and Ernie Simpson. He will be forever cherished by his family and friends. The Catholic Mass of Burial will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Montecito, California at eleven o'clock in the morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to The University of Oregon Foundation.
