Obituary of Amy Thompson

Amy “NANA” Thompson was born March 19, 1918 in El Paso Texas, She lived in Santa Barbara for over eighty years. Her Love, generosity and importance of family were imparted to five generations. Her strength was never ending. She always put her family first and made sure we were always taken care of, her courage to carry on no matter what life had in store for you will continue in those she has left behind. Our hearts are broken but our hope in God and His promise of eternal life for those who love Him gives us the blessed assurance of seeing her again. Nana went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2012 she was surrounded by family and deeply loved. She was preceeded in death by her husband Donald Thompson, son Thomas Abogadie and brothers Tom and Joe “Pepe” Aparacio. She is survived by her sister Connie Brisbin & brother Sal Aparacio, her only daughter Mary Alice Medina, granddaughters Leona (Abel) Gonzalez, Regina (Ernie) Medina-Badillo, Pamela (Gilbert) Avila, and Nanette Medina, great-grandchildren Gabe, Matt & Adam Avila, Christina & Alanna Gonzalez, Amy, Ben and Victoria Badillo. Great-great Grandchildren, Gabe, Mikey, Skilah, Jasmine, Elizabeth & Emily Avila & Jacob Emilio Gonzalez. and many nieces & nephews. The family would like to thank Hospice for their support, and special thanks to Erika for her years of loving care & the continuous support until her last day. In Lieu of flowers please send Donations to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care of Santa Barbara Services will be held Monday, April 9th at 10:00 am Holy Cross Church .
