Obituary of Elsie Sklar

Born March 1, 1917 in NY. After graduating Hunter College, she taught kindergarten for 25 years at PS 205 in Brooklyn. With her beloved husband, Sam Sklar, she moved to Santa Barbara in 1979 to be near their son, Rick (Nadav) and daughter-in-law, Dena Sklar (Greenfield) and to help raise granddaughter, Justine Sklar Yerushalmi. Elsie and Sam moved into Vista del Monte in 1996 and were active members of the Unitarian Society. Predeceased in 2000 by Sam, Elsie is survived by daughter Deidre Sklar and son Rick, granddaughter Justine, daughter-in-law Dena, 3 great- granddaughters, and 2 brothers, Albert Warren of New Rochelle and Martin Wiesenberg of White Plains, NY. She passed away peacefully and sweetly in her bed at Vista del Monte on March 14. An informal memorial in celebration of Elsie's life will be held in the Sierra Madre Lounge at Vista del Monte on Sunday April 15, 2012 at 2 PM. For more information email Deidre at DSklar@DancEth.
