Obituary of Gordon Foerschler

Gordon Wm. Foerschler was a very quiet, calm, loving, and joyful individual who lived life to the fullest. He was born on Oct. 6, 1915 in Louston, Idaho. He graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in forestry in 1939. He met and married Frances while he was in the Army. They moved to Santa Barbara in 1946 and had 2 children, Bill and Susan. During his 60+ years living in Santa Barbara he was a business-man and real estate agent. He owned the former Mission Inn on Garden St., and the Snack Shacks on Milpas, Chapala, State, and Goleta, as well as several in Los Angeles. He was a dedicated member of the Kiwanis for over 50 years and was also a member of the Cosmopolitan Club for many years as well. He enjoyed flying, tennis, baseball, ping pong, golf, pool, and computers. He was a faithful follower on the path of Self-Realization Fellowship since 1968. He is survived by his daughter Susan Wood and her 2 children, Justin and Brian. Tanya and Ross Foerschler, Bill's children, are also living. He was 96 years old.
