Obituary of Richard Myrick

Died peacefully in his sleep on February 2nd. He was 91. Dick was born in Santa Barbara where he was educated at the Deane School, Crane Country Day and graduated from the Thacher School and Princeton, class of 1943.During WW11 he served in the Army Corps of Engineers. After the war he earned a PHD in social psychology at Claremont before moving to Washington DC and working with the National Institute on Drug Abuse. When he retired he spent many happy years at his house in Deer Isle, Maine painting landscapes and developing his garden. He had a wonderful way with art, literature and gardening and was forever interested in helping others. He was married for a time to Susan Mordecai of Madera, Ca. His brother, David died Sept.24, 2011. He is survived by his sister Julia Myrick Allen and 3 nephews - Peter, Scott and Ted Allen.
