My relationship to Ed is that he was my dad''s partner back in the 70's when I grew up in NYC. He was wonderful to me, and I had all the respect in the world for him. I am very sorry to hear of his passing.

I only met Mr. Gibbons twice but he trusted me enough to take me under his wing and endorse me as a candidate to the United States Naval Academy. As I sit here and write this from Bancroft Hall, I can only hope to measure up to his legacy. Very Respectfully, Austin Patrick

I have known Ed since I was 9 years old and he met my sister Arlene. He was a good man and always helped others. Our father helped Ed while he was in school and our family always loved him. My wife is a cancer survivor, and I know first hand the pain and suffering that goes with this disease. We are so sorry for this loss of a great, accomplished man, and will miss him with all our hearts. We remember fondly a party for my mother when she turned 70. We were all at the beach in San Clemente and everyone was happy. We will always remember him thus. Love and support for all of his family members at this time. With the greatest respect and admiration for this man's life, Robert and Dawn Nesbitt

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Edward W. Gibbons. I have enjoyed Ed's friendship since 1955 when we were together in the 15th company of the United States Naval Academy. I have often had the pleasure of renewing my friendship with both Ed and his wife at reunions in Annapolis, MD., the home of the Naval Academy.
