To the Meza family,
I just wanted to express my feelings when I heard about the tragedy that your family has experienced. Please except my condolences. I also wanted to share with you something that has comforted me in times of distress.
When something like this happens we wonder why? Or does God really care?
The Bible helps us to appreciate why there is so much suffering at John 5:19. It reads”the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one” we see from that verse that God is not responsible for the wicked things happening in the world, but that he promises to bring about great changes on the earth. As he views the tragedy your family is experiencing, the loss of Mark, he assures you of his tender care @ Jeremiah 29:11. He says,”for I well know the thoughts that I am thinking toward you, declares Jehovah, thoughts of peace and not of calamity, to give you a future and a hope. And you will call me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” In fact, at Psalms 56:8 it tells us that he” collects our tears in his skin bottle and records them in his book.” As you grieve, rest assured that God takes note and is grieving with you!
Soon Jehovah will act and eradicate evil from the earth! Jesus will then resurrect our loved ones. Notice @ John 5:28 where he said,”Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out”
At that time we will be able to experience God’s original purpose for mankind! Peaceful conditions on our home, the earth. Ps.37:10,11,”Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were,And they will not be there. 11 But the meek will possess the earth,And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace” verse29 adds “The righteous will possess the earth,And they will live forever on it.”. Yes great changes are ahead,Revelation 21:4 says,”And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
So be assured of these promises and I hope you receive the same comfort that they have brought me!
Your family is kept in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely, Jim Hockemeyer
